Coffee Time News is proud to present our exclusive interview with British drummer Perry Melius, whose career has taken him from small clubs to some of the world’s biggest stages while working with artists such as Tricky and African Head Charge.

In this wide-ranging conversation, Perry talks about life on the road, creativity, family, the changing music industry, teaching himself to play drums, and the importance of understanding where music comes from. He also reflects on working with Tricky, the value of earning respect in the music business, and why younger listeners should sometimes look backwards to discover the artists and sounds that influenced the music they hear today.  Discover the experience, hard graft and perspective behind a lifetime behind the drums.

The interview also brought together one of our most international teams yet, with student journalists joining the conversation from Montargil and Ponte de Sor in Portugal, and Brazil.
